10 Terrible Movies That Got ONE Thing Right

8. Street Fighter - General Bison

In the mid-90s, video game movies had a short renaissance, among them Street Fighter, based on the Capcom games. The movie played fast and loose with characters and their backgrounds, for example making the all-American Colonel Guile into a French-accented Belgian leader of the 'Allied Nations.'

Oy.

However, one character brought sheer joy whenever he was onscreen - Raul Julia, as General M. Bison. Julia, who by his own admission knew nothing about the game, took the role because his video-game playing kids DID know the game, becoming his 'research' for the role.

And what a role.

Julia was an acclaimed actor with Tonys, Golden Globes, and an Emmy under his belt. Sadly, he died shortly before the film was released, making it his last screen credit. But man, did he go out on a campy high note.

As General Bison, Julia owned every scene he was in, making the ridiculous costume and powers his character had in the games seem reasonable and realistic. He must have known what he signed up for, but, even in ill health, was too professional to give anything less than his all.

He was clearly having a blast chewing the scenery as this larger than life villain.
