10 Terrible Movies That Have Surprisingly Awesome Soundtracks

10. Last Action Hero

The Movie: Intended as a spoof of the action movie genre, Last Action Hero should have been a gloriously wry wink to the audience from the biggest action hero of all time, Arnold Schwarzenegger. Part serious adventure/thriller, part over-the-top parody, Last Action Hero is a floundering mess chalk full of great bits and pieces. Sadly, there was no one interested in actually putting the puzzle together. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qwYGDgFzk3Y&list=PLFFEC263AE89D938E The Soundtrack: Just as the movie itself is split into two different camps, so is its soundtrack. A collection of both grungy alt metal (Alice In Chains, Fishbone) and 80s rock holdovers (AC/DC, Def Leppard), this soundtrack manages to come to a natural cohesion. The blend of upbeat arena rockers, particularly AC/DC's "Big Gun," provides just the right level of tension release from the onslaught of serious, sludgy power metal. Tesla's "Last Action Hero," the most on the nose of the bunch, actually blends a little bit of the old and the new in a not-so-terrible way, too.
