10 Terrible Movies That Reward You For Staying Until The End

5. Firestarter

Amazing Spider Man 2 Gwen Stacy Death
Universal

As an adaption of a Stephen King story, Firestarter from 2022 was viewed as a pretty safe bet when it came out. And then people actually saw it.

Starring Ryan Kiera Armstrong as Charlie, a young girl who can create powerful fires with her mind, this second film adaptation of King’s 1980 novel was a complete disaster and received some of the most unanimously damning criticism of any film across the entire year.

Armstrong was even nominated for a Razzie for Worst Actress, until they realised that it probably wasn’t a good idea to place so much negative attention on a 12-year-old.

All this being said, the final stretch of Firestarter actually had something to it.

After he is kidnapped by a secret agency in an attempt to lure his daughter out of hiding, Charlie’s father (Zac Efron) tells her to burn the whole place to the ground with him in it. She complies, sending everything up in a fierce blaze to end the film on a high, both visually and emotionally.

If only the rest of the movie had been this hot.
