10 Terrible Recent Movies With ONE Redeeming Scene
1. Venom Dances With Mrs. Chen - Venom: The Last Dance
The Venom franchise evidently has its fans, but recent threequel The Last Dance was for the most part the sloppiest and most haphazardly thrown-together of the three - which is really saying something.
But it did achieve possibly accidental excellence when Eddie Brock and Venom (Tom Hardy) end up heading to Las Vegas, where the duo enter a casino and run into Mrs. Chen (Peggy Lu), the memorable convenience store owner who appeared in the first two Venom films.
A thoroughly dolled up Mrs. Chen convinces Venom to dance with her, leading to an uproarious sequence where the pair boogie to Abba's Dancing Queen.
It's a completely unhinged "How did the filmmakers think of this?" scene, but actually genuinely funny and well-crafted, even if it makes no sense at all that Eddie and Venom would stop for a dance while being tracked by the Xenophage - a creature hell-bent on killing them.
