10 Terrifying Horror Movies You’ve Probably Never Seen

4. Salvage (2006)

80-minute indie horror Salvage may be hard to come by these days, but it offers a level of terror befitting a movie with far greater presence.

University student Claire Parker (Lauren Currie Lewis) is having recurring dreams of her own murder – or so she thinks. Repeating the same sequence of actions time and again, Claire realises she's caught up in something bigger and far more real than she first thought, and she must uncover the truth before she's killed for good.

Despite being scary precisely when it matters, Salvage is unfortunately slack throughout the rest of its runtime. The acting leaves something to be desired; the editing is laissez-faire, disregarding dramatic tension and consistency in the shots and sequences; and the plot feels deeply familiar, cribbed from much bigger and more interesting movies. Having said that, Salvage is so similar in many ways to 2017's Happy Death Day that it's hard to believe the creative team behind that (admittedly far superior) film didn't see this one first.
