10 Things We Need To See In HBO Harry Potter Series

3. The Hogwarts Founders

Godric Gryffindor, Helga Hufflepuff, Rowena Ravenclaw and Salazar Slytherin. These four names are among the most famous in all of the Harry Potter universe and yet neither the readers nor audience have ever actually seen them. The closest anyone has come is in meeting Ravenclaw's daughter and Slytherin's lovable pet Basilisk.

For the simplest of all reasons, these four founders of Hogwarts need to be depicted as they defined the magical community in Britain for a generation. It was through their instructions and selection processes that the school established its methodology - even if that did lead to the divisions between Slytherin's for the years that followed.

These witches and wizards are the bedrock on which the entire franchise is based, even if they are a thousand years in the past. While that in itself may be a daunting task to bring to the screen, it is no more difficult than realizing Dumbledore or Voldemort. They need to be both archetypal, so that we can see each of the core values of each house in them, while also being real characters at the same time. But exploring this era of magic is one of the most tantalizing mysteries left in the Potter universe.
