3. He Suffered Numerous Injuries (And Almost Died) During The Making Of Conan
When Momoa was cast in the 2011 Conan The Barbarian re-imagining as the titular character, Arnold Schwarzenegger's take on the character loomed over the film and there was massive pressure on his shoulders to deliver a worthy performance. Not one to shy from a challenge, Momoa put his life on the line for the film. Literally. Before filming, Momoa wanted to have his nose broken for the film just because it would suit the character. As soon as he jokingly suggested the idea to a friend, the friend immediately punched him in the face and broke his nose. Rather than get angry, Momoa took it like a champ, used it in his performance, and just said 'don't tell my wife'. During filming, Momoa was battered and bruised through a physically grueling shoot which involved a near-fatal accident. A horse went head over heels and Momoa was a few inches from nearly being crushed when he slid off the horse's back. After his brush with death, Momoa dutifully got back on the horse, only to be thrown off again and breaking a few ribs. Unfortunately those injuries and near-death experiences didn't amount to much as the film was a bit of a flop. On the subject of injuries...
My life story is nothing special. I haven't cured ebola, I'm nowhere near stopping terrorism, and I'm still working on that climate change problem.
Instead, all I've done so far is put a few hundred words together in an attempt to make people laugh.
