While training as a kiteboarder in the Dominican city of Caberete, Maika couldn't help but bond with the local kids who would watch her train, and inspired by them, decided to create a clothing line for Airbound Apparel, a company based in the town, with a portion of their proceeds going to local children's charities. Given how she has so much on her plate right now, it's pretty amazing that she's made time to involve herself in something that benefits others. Something which so many other young actors could take cue from, no doubt.
