5. Wolverine - Johnny Depp
Before you ask, no, you didn't misread that. Let me explain.
It's common knowledge that Hugh Jackman was not the first choice to play Wolverine in X-Men. Dougray Scott was originally cast but had to drop out due to scheduling conflicts. As a result, Jackman was recast three weeks into production, leaving him little time to prepare for the role.
What's worse is that the director, Bryan Singer, informed Jackman that he was totally wrong for the part since he was too tall and had difficulty conveying Wolverine's rage. On top of that, Jackman struggled to mask his Aussie accent while saying his lines. Because he didn't have time to study the accent properly, he watched clips of Johnny Depp performing and did his best to imitate his American accent.
There's just one tiny problem. Wolverine is Canadian. Johnny Depp is American. Jackman was so stressed about finding the right accent, he forgot to check what accent his character has! So, if you were wondering why an Australian actor is playing an Albertan character in a Kentucky accent, now you know why.
