10 Things You Learn Rewatching Halloween H20: 20 Years Later (1998)

1. In Summary

Halloween H20 Jamie Lee Curtis
Dimension Films

Halloween H20: 20 Years Later is a film that should have been way better than it is. It has a whole lot of positives going for it, from Jamie Lee's stellar performance to Miner's solid direction. But between the ill-advised script and production woes like the jumbled score and the awful mask, it can never quite stop hurting itself in the process.

It's a bit of a missed opportunity, which is exactly why the idea of Jamie Lee returning to the franchise to give it one more go with this year's new film is so exciting.

Having said all of that, those last five minutes are to die for.

Haddonfield High Superlatives:

Best Kill: A young Joseph Gordon Levitt getting an ice-skate's blade to the face.

Funniest Scene: LL Cool J's sudden resurrection at the end of the movie after being shot in the head, with an infamously awful dubbing of "it just grazed me!" to boot.

Biggest Dick of a Character: Charlie and his hormones.

How Awful of a Town is Haddonfield?: Sadly, Haddonfield gets the week off this week, as this film is set in California. But don't worry, next week includes a very special visit to Haddonfield.

Scream Queen Award: The queen herself has come back to claim the throne with a vengeance as Jamie Lee Curtis more-than-earns it this week.
