10 Things You Need To Know About Pirates Of The Caribbean 5

8. It's Written By The Writer Of Catch Me If You Can

Alongside new directors, Disney is also injecting new blood into the writer's room, bringing aboard experienced writer Jeff Nathanson. The duo Ted Elliot and Terry Rossio have thus far written all four movies in the Pirates franchise, but for Dead Men Tell No Tales only Rossio returns to help Nathanson deliver the best script possible. Jeff Nathanson is best known for writing Spielberg's Catch Me If You Can, an immensely fun adventure film that has a tone Pirates Of The Caribbean could use very well. Nathanson also wrote another Spielberg-directed, Tom Hanks-starring film, The Terminal, along with Tower Heist, Men in Black 3, and the Rush Hour sequels. Granted, those films are very hit and miss, but given the mix of Nathanson, who is new to the franchise, and Rossio, who has written every entry thus far, Dead Men Tell No Tales has the potential to be a step up from On Stranger Tides.
