10 Things You Need To Know About The MCU’s Spider-Man
7. Hes Really Young
The image above depicts Tom Holland in the How I Live Now movie from 2013, alongside Saoirse Ronan. Although Tom Holland has aged a bit since then, it gives us an idea of just how youthful he can appear if you add baggy clothes, glasses and scruffy hair to his God-given looks. This ties in well with the MCU Spider-Man. Tom Holland is 19 years old at the moment, but when we meet Peter Parker hell be even younger than Holland. Hes just 15 now, director Jon Watts told Empire Magazine about the protagonist his 2017 Spider-Man movie. He's been Spidey for a year, but he's still very much a youngster. I love the idea of making a coming-of-age high school movie, Watts elaborated in his interviewing, before explaining that were really going to see Peter Parker in high school and get deeper into that side of it. Expect Spidey to be battle bullies as often as supervillains, then, as well as having to find time for his schoolwork. Itll be fun to spend more time at this stage of Peters life, since the previous cinematic Spidey franchises both rushed past these high school years to get to Peters college years and/or adulthood.
