10 Things You Need To Know About The X-Men & Fantastic Four's MCU Future
2. Marvel Studios Has Met With Patrick Stewart About Professor X
Kevin Feige got his start working on the X-Men movies, so you'd best believe that these are characters near and dear to his heart. However, while there may not be room for the team in Phase 4, that doesn't mean the Marvel Studios President isn't plotting out their future.
During a recent interview with Digital Spy, Patrick Stewart (who played Charles Xavier for nearly two decades) revealed, "I met with Kevin Feige a couple of months ago and we had long, long conversations. And there have been moves and suggestions, which include Charles Xavier." Yes, it really does sound like he was asked to reprise the role in the MCU!
That's a shocking move on Marvel Studios' part, and a situation which doesn't sound all that different to the way J.K. Simmons has reprised the role of J. Jonah Jameson.
Unfortunately, Stewart confirmed that Logan was the end for him, so this won't be happening. As these discussions have already taken place, though, there's a strong chance Professor X will start assembling his team of mutants much earlier than we thought.
