6. The Theme Tune

Will we be flying back into the Danger Zone? Rumours have it that Kenny Loggins's hit song, Danger Zone, will feature in the new film. It might have to take a backseat to the new Lady Gaga song but nevertheless, this banger will return to the loudspeakers for one more fighter jet montage.

This fact was kept a secret for quite a while, but during an interview with Jimmy Fallon, Tom Cruise and Loggins both agreed that there could not be a Top Gun film without the iconic soundtrack.

The song was nominated for an Oscar back in the day but lost to Berlin with their hit from the same movie, Take My Breath Away. It may have been a great song, but it hasn't stood the test of time as well as Danger Zone has. The song has also featured in a number of other productions, including the hit animated series Archer.

Will we hear the familiar 80s tune when Maverick takes his trusty motorcycle out for a spin on the runway, or will it be during an action-packed fighter jet scene in the sky?
