10 Things You Won't See In Avengers: Age Of Ultron

The Sony hack and lurid leaks that continue to plague the studio were a black eye for Hollywood, but one revelation prompted a wave of optimism that might even have been the clincher in secret negotiations between Sony and Marvel.

In a rare, unprecedented move back in February, the studios announced a timeshare arrangement whereby Sony retain their rights to make solo Spider-Man movies but the character will also be joining the MCU.

It’s a perfect marriage of convenience, breathing life back into Sony’s prized asset after several missteps while also bringing Peter Parker into the Avengers fold. Great news for both studios and fans everywhere, although spare a thought for Andrew Garfield, who performed with distinction in Marc Webb's The Amazing Spider-Man films.

It’s not out of the question that Age Of Ultron could include a nod to the homecoming of Marvel’s most popular asset, be it an easter egg or even a brief costumed appearance once the credits roll, but it’s probably too soon. Given that there’s no official casting as yet and it’s already been confirmed that a younger Peter Parker will be going back to school (yet again), it wouldn’t make much sense to have him arrive fully formed.

Then again, Feige and Co. could be forgiven if they simply couldn’t resist heralding the return of their best-known character as soon as possible.

I watch movies and I watch sport. I also watch movies about sport, and if there were a sport about movies I'd watch that too. The internet was the closest thing I could find.
