10 Times Horror Movies Got Weapons Wrong
7. Old Painless Is Too Heavy For A Human To Carry - Predator
Predator is surely the most testosterone-fuelled horror film ever made, in large part due to the presence of Jesse Ventura's Blain, a tobacco-chewin' badass who hasn't got time to bleed and proudly carries a M134 Minigun with him at all times which he dubs Old Painless.
The gun is also handled by Mac (Bill Duke) following Blain's death, but no matter the operator, the simple truth is that no living human being is physically able to single-handedly hold and shoot one of these things.
In reality, the gun is actually mounted on a fixed object like a helicopter or car, because with its ability to fire thousands of rounds per minute, there's simply no practical way for a person to carry the combined weight of the gun, thousands of rounds of ammo, and the battery needed to fire the damn thing.
This proves especially noticeable during the iconic "deforestation" scene, where Mac fires the gun continually for around a minute, while miraculously not producing a pile of several-thousand bullet casings.
