10 Times Star Wars Broke The Fourth Wall
2. Ashara Zavros Hums The Imperial March - The Old Republic
Jumping into the video game corner of this galaxy far, far away for this next entry, and to a largely overlooked beat that actually alluded to the existence of John Williams' unmistakable score within the world occupied by Jedi and Sith.
Coming during a sequence seen in The Old Republic video game, hot on the heels of doing the deed with the one-time Jedi as a Sith Inquisitor, players witness Ashara Zavros hum a rather familiar tune as she gathers herself post, well, you know...
But in showcasing Zavros' singing of the Imperial March often accompanying Darth Vader as he terrifyingly stomps onto the scene, the question of how in the holy hell Zavros stumbled upon this tune in the first place quickly invaded many a Star Wars fans' minds.
In all honesty, though, this was likely nothing more than a cute tip of the cap to one of the most recognisable pieces of music the galaxy has to offer. But it brought that fourth wall crashing on down in an unexpectedly raunchy way, all the same.
In the wake of TOR's release, The Imperial march would actually wiggle its way into the Star Wars universe again in the form of Glory of the Empire - otherwise known as the Imperial Anthem - as this patriotic tune and further fourth-wall smash would go on to become an anthem of sorts for the Galactic Empire during parades, etc.
