10 Times The MCU Completely Transformed Actors' Careers
6. Chris Pratt - From Heavyset Loser To Hunky Lead
Who would have thought the guy in the above .gif would become one of Hollywood's hottest leading men?
The final member of the MCU's holy trinity of Chrises (the Christians?) Chris Pratt was best known for playing the role of Andy Dwyer in NBC's Parks and Recreations. While Pratt was undeniably great in the show, there was the danger of him becoming typecast as the homely, lovable loser for the remainder of his career. That all changed when he slimmed down, bulked up and put his comedic chops to perfect use as Guardians of the Galaxy's Peter Quill - another lovable loser, but a sexy one.
Since his breakout role as Quill, Chris Pratt has become one of the most bankable stars in Hollywood, making billions at the box office as Jurassic Park's Owen Grady. It's hard to imagine Andy Dwyer being given the chance to play the lead in one of cinema's most famous franchises, so Chris Pratt must be grateful for the MCU giving him a platform to announce himself as a Hollywood leading man.
Of course, he wasn't the only one whose career took an upturn after starring in Guardians of the Galaxy...
