10 Times The MCU Gave Fans EXACTLY What They Wanted

8. Spider-Man Joins The MCU - Captain America: Civil War

Captain America: Civil War was a triple-distilled exercise in fan service from start to finish, and what could somehow be better than seeing Team Cap and Team Iron Man square off? The arrival of Spider-Man into the MCU, of course.

The fact that Marvel Studios were able to strike a deal with Sony to use Spider-Man was a major miracle in of itself, but that he ended up being one of Civil War's standout moments was just the icing on the cake.

Peter Parker (Tom Holland) is first introduced when Tony Stark comes a-knocking at his door, looking to recruit him to join his impending battle with Team Cap.

The quickfire banter between Parker and Stark immediately cements Tom Holland and Robert Downey Jr.'s easy chemistry, and it's not long before Peter swings into Leipzig/Halle airport and nabs Cap's shield.

Spidey's brief role in the film quickly confirmed that Tom Holland was a perfect casting choice, and best of all finally gave fans a version of the character who was actually a kid - not an actor in their mid-to-late 20s pretending to be a teenager. No offense, Tobey Maguire and Andrew Garfield.
