5. The Actors Have Lived Every Moment Over Twenty Times Any David Fincher Movie
No doubt every Apple drone who watched The Social Network winced a little when Andrew Garfields Eduardo destroyed a Mac. Its a good thing they weren't on set that scene had almost twenty takes, with a computer being destroyed each time. Garfield didn't struggle to keep a straight face and there weren't problems with the way the laptops were breaking; this is just how David Fincher works. Most directors try and get their shots as quick as possible. Others will piece together various takes until theres something legible on screen (Lucas). But even if he gets it right first take, Fincher will always keep the actors going. Its pretty smart when you think about it it gets rid of any preconceptions the actors may have and really allows for exploration of the role. Although this would in theory make him a rather unapproachable director for actors, the calibre of the talent he amasses and the final quality of his movies speaks for itself. It does change how you view the man, however; you never watch Fight Club in the same way knowing Brad Pitt probably said that speech upwards of twenty times.
