10 Unbelievably Boring Horror Movies

1. The Wicker Tree

Bradley Cooper The Midnight Meat Train
British Lion Films

The first Wicker Man film was a fantastic horror property. Despite its bright and open setting, it was drenched in a fearful atmosphere that kept the audience on edge. The final moments were an unbelievably bleak way to end a story and was something that hadn't been seen before.

Then when the film was remade with Nicholas Cage, it was awful, but incredibly fun to watch. The nonsensical story and weird acting made it entirely non-scary but hilarious.

So what happened with the third film? Robin Hardy returned to create this project, which was promising as he was the creator behind the first movie. But unlike that outing, this film was unbelievably dull. It doesn't even have the advantage of being embarrassingly fun to watch like the remake. It is simply an uninteresting film.

The atmosphere of the original is completely gone as the mystery by this point has become apparent. We know the intentions of the village as we've seen it played out twice now. This leads to the film being predictable and entirely lacking in any sense of dread or even personality.

There just doesn't seem to be any decent reason for this project to live. It adds nothing to the original tale and essentially just does the same thing with a tiny coat of paint.
