10 Under The Radar Horror Movies Coming In 2016
1. The Belko Experiment
The Belko Experiment is based on a script by writer/director James Gunn wrote years ago, and while it always received high praise the level of violence in it frightened most studios off. Flush with his success from Guardians Of The Galaxy Gunn decided to finally produce it himself, and gave the director’s chair to Greg McLean.
The story follows a group of offices workers who find themselves locked into their building one day, and ordered to kill each by a voice over the loud-speaker. What follows is said to be a pretty harrowing affair, though Gunn swears there are some laughs and emotion in there too.
McLean has shown himself to be expert horror director with the Wolf Creek movies and Rogue, and the project has lined up a great genre cast including Michael Rooker, Tony Goldwyn and John C. McGinley. Gunn has a solid track record in the genre (Sliter, Dawn Of The Dead remake) and it’ll be nice to see him return to his roots; he even claims the script is the best thing he’s ever written.
