10 Underrated Rom-Coms You Have To See

7. Stuck In Love

Millennium Entertainment

Considering the amount of talent involved in this 2013 romantic comedy, it's shocking to think it only made just shy of one million dollars at the worldwide box office. Whether this was due to a limited release, poor timing or ineffective advertising, one thing that is undeniable is that it wasn't the film's fault that so few people went to see it.

Starring Lily Collins, Greg Kinnear, Kristen Bell, Jennifer Connolly and Logan Lerman, Stuck In Love follows Bill Borgens (Kinnear), an acclaimed author whose wife, Erica (Connolly) has just left him. As he struggles to raise his teenager kids - Rusty (Nat Wolff), who is in love but lacks confidence; and Sam (Collins), who doesn't want to fall in love but has a thing for one-night stands - Bill must navigate his personal life and help his family come face-to-face with love and romance.

With some staggering and moving performances from Collins, Kinnear, Lerman and Bell, Stuck In Love is a film full of frank and honest discussions about life, but is also a picture which never feels too sappy, over-the-top or melodramatic. Instead, it's a perfectly balanced character study about love and family that hits all the right notes when it comes to giving its audience a heart-warming story - one that is bound to stay with you long after it's finished.
