8. Eddie Brock And Captain Stacy Don’t Care That Gwen Is About To Die – Spider-Man 3
For reasons that aren’t entirely clear, a crane in the middle of New York starts malfunctioning, and moments later, Gwen finds herself hanging on to the edge of a building whilst her boyfriend and her father watch on from below.
Bizarrely, neither of them are too concerned about Gwen. Captain Stacy’s reaction to his daughter’s predicament is to ask ‘what’s she doing up there?’, and Brock seems more interested in taking photos than worrying about his girlfriend.
Of course, Spider-Man soon turns up and saves the day, but they had no way of knowing Gwen wasn’t going to plummet to her death at any moment. As such, their casual conversation is completely inappropriate.
Though Captain Stacy does embrace Gwen when she’s back on the ground, Brock is more concerned with talking to Spider-Man than comforting his girlfriend.
