10 Unlucky Movie Characters Who Didn't Deserve To Die

6. The Lost World: Jurassic Park - Ajay

Whatever you might feel about the sequel to the first film, you can’t deny that there were some interesting choices made. Bringing InGen into the story as secondary antagonists was a nice touch, as was introducing the Trophy Hunters.

Taking centre-stage in that camp was Pete Postlethwaite’s Roland Tembo, who was by the far the best character in the entire film.

But let’s talk about his buddy Ajay instead shall we? Ajay wasn’t a bad guy. He wasn’t good by a long shot, but he wasn’t a Dieter or Peter Ludlow.

In one of the only cool scenes in the film, the InGen mercenaries race into long grass to escape a T-Rex, only to be running into a Velociraptor restaurant and they were the fresh buffet.

Ajay pleads with the others not to run into the field, and reluctantly follows them further as he tries to keep them from harm. We don’t see his demise, but his bag is discovered by Ian Malcolm and later Roland laments the news that Ajay died.

It’s his death that inspires Roland to retire/quit hunting, so while he was a unlucky and unfortunate, he isn’t forgotten as much as others in this list.

I overthink a lot of things. Will talk about pretty much anything for a great length of time. I'm obsessed with General Slocum from the 2002 Spider-Man film. I have questions that were never answered in that entire trilogy!
