10 Upcoming 2014 Films That Could Beat Guardians Of The Galaxy At The Box Office

10. Dumb And Dumber To

For moviegoers of a certain age, it€™s a little disconcerting to discover that Dumb and Dumber is now 20 years old. The Farrelly brothers are celebrating this special anniversary of their 1994 road trip flick with the ultimate treat for its fans: the release of Dumb and Dumber To (not a typo). When the first film was conceived, Jim Carrey was on the brink of stardom. Carrey was initially offered $700,000 to play the splendidly named Lloyd Christmas, but when Ace Ventura: Pet Detective opened at #1 that same week, his salary was bumped to $7 million. Ably abetted by the impressively ridiculous Jeff Daniels as Harry Dunne, Carrey treated us to the most annoying sound in the world among other joys, and Dumb and Dumber became one of the biggest comedies of the 1990s. Now Harry and Lloyd are back for more dumbery, trying to track down the former€™s long-lost daughter in the hope of securing a kidney. And a brain too, presumably. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HMxwcRck9TI Why the Guardians should be worried: Truthfully, the Guardians should sleep safe in their spaceship on this one, but it€™s not out of the question that Dumb and Dumber To could make a significant box office splash. Adjusted for inflation, the original made a similar amount to Guardians€™ current sum, but the recent failure of Sin City: A Dame To Kill For has been attributed to a long wait between films, and this one might suffer a similar fate.

I watch movies and I watch sport. I also watch movies about sport, and if there were a sport about movies I'd watch that too. The internet was the closest thing I could find.
