10 Upcoming Films Starring Doctor Who Actors You Have To See
6. Captcha (Arthur Darvill)
Arthur Darvill's eventful tenure aboard the TARDIS was a rollercoaster from start to finish when he discovered that his girlfriend's imaginary friend was actually real and that she'd subsequently gone galavanting throughout time and space with him on the night before their wedding. He kept on bloody dying, too, which couldn't have been good for the ego, but there wasn't a dry eye in the house when he got zapped back in time by the Weeping Angels at the end of the mid-Series 7 finale. RIP. Still, Arthur hasn't done too badly off the back of his Doctor Who departure. He went onto obtain critical acclaim when he treaded the Broadway boards in Once (a role he later reprised for a temporary run in the West End) and then he was a suspect in one of the biggest murder mysteries in TV history when he starred as Reverend Paul Coates in the hit ITV drama Broadchurch. He was in Series 2 earlier this year as well, but you probably blinked and missed him. And if you just can't get enough of Rory the Roman (or, rather, the guy who played him!), you'll want to keep an eye out for CAPTCHA in which he stars as Mel. Billed as "a short film noir thriller with a touch of romance", the movie is set against the backdrop of a steam punked 1940s London where an injured man discovers that he's had a love implant put inside him without his knowing. Awkward. The film has been received well since it started doing the rounds at festivals and it has more screenings on the way. It also features the voice of Zoƫ Wanamaker (Lady Cassandra), so there's plenty of Doctor Who alumni to go around.
