Whilst not much is known about the project at the moment, Legendary Entertainment have launched an official website for the upcoming Texas Chainsaw Massacre movie. Also, the marketing team for the movie have set to work by having Leatherface included in the Call Of Duty franchise on the game’s Halloween update.

However, despite little information confirmed about the film aside from select cast and crew members, news and rumors are already circulating. It appears that the production team have already had to restart the film from scratch because the original directors - Andy and Ryan Tohill - who started working on the film in February 2020, have been kicked by Legendary after a week of shooting.

David Blue Garcia, director of Tejano, is now directing the new sequel that, like 2018’s Halloween, is going to rewrite every other Texas Chainsaw Massacre sequel that came before it.

There’s no information on when it will be released, even if it is slated for a 2021 release, but a choice few statements speak volumes. Alvarez said in February: “the Tohills’ vision is exactly what the fans want. It’s violent, exciting, and so depraved that it will stay with you forever.”

Thus, with the Tohills’ removal from the project, fans are unsure of what state the new film will be in once it’s finally finished.
