New horror film Him certainly looks plenty intriguing, revolving around an up-and-coming footballer (Tyriq Withers) who trains at the compound of an ageing quarterback (Marlon Wayans) whose mentorship harbours a dark secret.

The marketing has sold the picture's eerie visuals and intense performances, and in case you weren't convinced yet, the name of Get Out director Jordan Peele is also plastered all over the trailers and posters.

But it's worth pointing out that Him isn't actually a Jordan Peele movie - well, not really.

Peele is a producer on the project, but the feature was actually co-written and directed by Justin Tipping (Kicks), with Peele more involved on the business end of production.

It goes without saying that Peele's name, as a horror auteur, is being blatantly used to hype the movie up and may well lead some to believe that he actually directed it. Yet for as neat as it looks, it's worth setting your expectations accordingly considering that Peele is only involved to a certain level.
