10 Upcoming Horror Movies That Aren't What You Think
5. It's Not A Remake - The Last Train to New York
2016's South Korean action-horror film Train to Busan was enough of a global hit that a remake was basically inevitable, and indeed, in 2018, it was confirmed that James Wan (Saw, The Conjuring) would be producing it, with the title later revealed to be The Last Train to New York.
Though the project is still in the midst of development, Wan did recently reveal something surprising about the movie: it actually isn't a remake at all.
Rather, The Last Train to New York has now been reconceived as a spin-off which exists within the same universe as Train to Busan, with its events unfolding at the same time as those of the original film, but set in the U.S. instead of South Korea.
That's certainly a more interesting route for this new movie to go, hopefully offering up a different stateside spin on similar material rather than just rehashing the original beat-for-beat.
As for when it's actually coming out, we'll have to wait and see.
