4. It's The Final Terrifier Movie (For Now) - Terrifier 4
Considering the phenomenal success of Terrifier 3, there was never any doubt that a fourth film would happen, and by the start of this year, director Damien Leone confirmed that he was hard at work developing the script for Terrifier 4.
Leone also confirmed the surprising news that, in addition to revealing the origins of franchise icon Art the Clown (David Howard Thornton), Terrifier 4 was being written to be the final film in the series.
Damien called it an "epic, horrifying, thrilling, emotional and satisfying conclusion," echoing previous comments he'd made about not wanting to make endless Terrifier sequels.
Even so, for a mega-hit slasher franchise to bow out after just four movies is virtually unheard of, especially when its cost-to-profit ratio is as ludicrously high as Terrifier's, and given that the series is still enormously popular.
Now, of course, just because Damien Leone says this is the final Terrifier doesn't make it so - we've all seen countless "final" horror sequels that are anything but - though in the very least, it seems that Terrifier 4 might see the series put to bed for a little while, right at the peak of its commercial success and pop-culture penetration.
