10 Upcoming Horrors We Can't Believe Are Happening

1. Constantine 2

Adapted from the DC Comics' Hellblazer series, Francis Lawrence's Constantine follows an occultist who's tasked with stopping demons from entering the world while also trying to save his own damned soul.

The supernatural thriller received mixed reviews but has since become a cult classic. Lawrence teased a potential follow-up back in 2005, but nothing came of it.

Although it looked like Constantine would be absorbed into Guillermo del Toro's Justice League Dark at one point, that team-up movie never got off the ground. Even though fans have been begging for a Constantine sequel for decades, it started to feel like wishful thinking.

But at this moment, Constantine 2 is closer than ever to becoming a reality. Several years ago, Lawrence and Keanu Reeves, who played the eponymous character in the original, collaborated on a pitch for a Constantine film. Rather than doing a reboot or a remake, Constantine 2 is set in the same world as its predecessor and so would serve as a direct sequel.

Though Constantine 2 could clash with the DCU, James Gunn has confirmed this project would exist separately from other superhero properties, much like Matt Reeves' The Batman.

It may be 20+ years coming, but it's nice to hear that Constantine 2 is no longer a pipedream.
