Spider-Man: No Way Home managed to gross almost $2 billion even in the midst of a global pandemic, which speaks strongly to just how thirsty audiences were to see three eras of Spider-Man together on-screen.

The rapturous response to seeing Tobey Maguire and Andrew Garfield as Peter Parker once again immediately ignited fan discussions about potential future appearances from the two - and in particular, a fourth Spider-Man movie in the original Sam Raimi continuity.

Given that Maguire and Raimi were originally onboard for Spider-Man 4 way back when, before negotiations broke down and the IP was rebooted with Garfield, returning to that well makes a whole lot of sense.

A movie focused on a middle-aged Peter Parker and showing us how his reality has changed over the last 15-20 years would be guaranteed box office gold, especially if Kirsten Dunst also returned as MJ.

We all know how much money talks, and if Sony is smart they'll try to squeeze out one final Raimi/Maguire collab before the next Tom Holland-starring MCU Spidey movie.
