10 Upcoming Legacy Movie Sequels That Feel Inevitable
3. Rush Hour 4
It's genuinely surprising that an entire 15 years have passed without a fourth Rush Hour film, because though Rush Hour 3 underwhelmed at the box office, the buddy cop series has remained a consistent performer on home video and popular presence on streaming services.
Chris Tucker has stated numerous times over the years that Rush Hour 4 is in active development, yet it hasn't ever come to fruition.
But in light of the surprise box office success of Bad Boys for Life in 2020, it feels like sure proof that the buddy cop genre's demise has been grossly exaggerated.
A fourth Rush Hour that focuses on Lee (Jackie Chan) as he takes on One Last Case before retirement while re-teaming with Carter (Tucker), and also working alongside some younger cops, shouldn't be a difficult story to write at all.
Given that Chan has been scaling back his demanding action roles in recent years, one last go-around with Rush Hour - that is, one last epic payday - makes all the sense in the world, and a lot of people would love to see it.
