10 Upcoming Movie Remakes You Should Be More Annoyed About Than Ghostbusters

Here's a shocker for you - I've never seen Power Rangers. Nothing. I don't know how I missed it, but aside from a few kids having the headflipping toys at schools, it's a cultural blindspot for me; I was introduced to Ivan Ooze when the Apocalypse jibes began and Rita Repulsa with her casting in this film. So, somewhat naturally, I'm pretty ambivalent about there being a new take - there's potential for some good silly fun, but if it's a slog I won't be all that offended.

If I was a fan, however, I would find a lot of the same revisionism here that has led to Ghostbusters being so vilified. The new character designs are a straight-up Iron Man riff (totally fine - you can't have spandex - but clearly more Marvel impact) and the purported tone is "generic modern blockbuster". It also looks like Rita is really the Green Ranger, which a quick check of Power Rangers Wiki tells me wasn't the case before.
