Sure enough, 2022 will see the director of the likes of Godzilla, 2012, and the Independence Day flicks take on another out of this world form of total destruction, this time in the form of the Moon in the aptly named Moonfall. That's right, buckle up for an edge-of-your-seat thrill ride as Halle Berry, Patrick Wilson, and Donald Sutherland go out of their way to stop that big thing in space made out of cheese from crashing into our world.

There is admittedly a chance that this tale of folks trying to get to the bottom of why an alien force is messing about with our favourite space rock could be a cheeky dose of self-aware fun for those needing a superhero cleanse this February. But all obvious signs point to another brainless attack on the senses that likely won't be many people's cup of tea to kick off 2022.
