10 Upcoming Movies That Just Got Delayed
9. Fast 11
Fast X was released in May 2023, and considering the film's bonkers cliffhanger ending it was expected that an eleventh main movie would be fast-tracked into production.
And indeed, Fast 11 was initially slated by Universal to release on April 4, 2025, but it ended up sliding to 2026 - hardly an unsurprising outcome given the industry strike action throughout 2023.
Yet back in June, Vin Diesel confirmed a further delay, that Fast 11 would no longer be releasing in 2026 at all, but would now land in April 2027.
This will mark one of the longest gaps between Fast sequels considering the series' impressively timely output, though considering the wildly divisive reaction to Fast X, it'll be interesting to see if it directly picks up from Fast X's cliffhanger or is swiftly swept under the rug.
Given that Fast X was a box office disappointment relative to the series' prior successes, it's been rumoured that Fast 11 will be a more modest, potentially lower-budget affair focused on street-level racing in Los Angeles rather than cartoonish globetrotting action.
As ever, we'll have to wait and see, though if that April 2027 date sticks, we probably won't have to wait too long to find out, as shooting will likely begin within the next six months or so.
