10 Upcoming Movies That Will Change Your Mind About Actors You Hate
6. The Long Home - Ashton Kutcher & James Franco
Both Ashton Kutcher and James Franco are talented actors whose public images seem to be at odds with some of their best work.
For Kutcher, it comes probably down to his work on Two And A Half Men - a wallet-stuffing move that didn't exactly endear him to many - while Franco's on-screen persona has bled into real life, particularly with accusations of (at best) odd social media behaviour. They're both... divisive, to say the least.
But Franco has quietly fostered a reputation as a good indie director and he's got The Long Home coming up (along with many, many other projects) - a tale of vengeance with an excellent cast, including Kutcher playing the murdered father of Josh Hutcherson's vengeful hero. And given the lack of opportunity to mug to camera or an audience, it should do him well.
Franco also stars as the villain of the piece, and if he pulls it off, he could be getting a big shot of positive publicity (particularly if The Disaster Artist is well-received too).
