10 Upcoming Sequels Which Could Actually Be Worth Your Time

7. The Adventures Of Tintin: Red Rackam's Treasure

One of the most entertaining of all Steven Spielberg's movies was without a doubt The Adventures Of Tintin - it was the great director's first film in many years which seemed to capture the spirit of his early Indiana Jones movies, serving up a riotous adventure based around Hergé's endearing characters. With so many books in the back catalogue to choose from a sequel was inevitable - indeed, it's been in the pipeline for some time now, with producer Peter Jackson switching places with Spielberg to take on directing duties. Given the CGI overload many complained of in The Hobbit trilogy, a fully animated movie might be the perfect medium for Jackson to unleash his imagination. Whether Jackson moved onto The Adventures Of Tintin: Prisoners Of The Sun after wrapping up his final J. R. R. Tolkien adaptations isn't certain - in an interview last year he said, "what I want to explore next, there are a couple of New Zealand films I want to do ... Fran Walsh and I have a couple of true stories that we want to do that are New Zealand movies. We really want to do something now that€™s connected with where we live rather than something that€™s a Hollywood thing." Anticipation factor: The source material is solid, Andy Serkis and Jamie Bell are on board and Peter Jackson has a good eye for large-scale action heroics, so we could be in for another fast-paced animated adventure.
