10 Valentine's Horror Films That Will Make You Glad To Be Single
5. Fatal Attraction
Fatal Attraction is one of those films that will forever linger in the public's consciousness, even if they don't know it. The term "bunny boiler" is so evocative (and hilarious) that we would be bereft if it ever fell out of usage. Fatal Attraction isn't a horror film in the strictest sense of the word, not in the sense that the rest of these films are. However, whilst you could argue it's definitely more of a psychological thriller, I would argue that - quite frankly - I would rather face Jason Voorhees than Alex Forrest (Glenn Close) thank you very much. Fatal Attraction follows Dan (Michael Douglas) who has a passionate affair with Alex whilst his family are out of town. It's hot and it's heavy, and they have crazy loud sex in a lift, but then Glenn Close goes and spoils it all by saying something stupid like "if you leave me I'll kill myself". This quickly escalates into some fairly serious violence including the aforementioned bunny boiling, and some other slightly less grim stuff including acid and kidnapping. Fatal Attraction is the archetypal 1980's erotic thriller, and is a successful cautionary tale against having that illicit dirty shag.
