The name Kenneth Colley may not be a household name, but sharp-eyed viewers will recognize his face from a number of great British films.

After appearances in Nicolas Roeg’s Performance and Ken Russell’s The Devils, Colley worked with Monty Python alumni Michael Palin and Terry Gilliam in Ripping Yarns and Jabberwocky, respectively. That led to his hilarious “background” performance as Jesus in Monty Python's Life Of Brian, where Jesus is overshadowed by the other guy from Nazareth.

But science fiction fans might remember him better as the weaselly Admiral Piett in The Empire Strikes Back. One by one, his co-workers and superiors get the life choked out of them by an impatient Darth Vader, and Piett continues his ascent through the ranks of the Empire, working all the way up to Admiral. And if you had any doubt whether his middle management tactics worked, he popped up again, still alive and still Admiral, in Return Of The Jedi.
