10 Villains That Affleck’s Batman Should Fight Instead Of The Joker
6. Black Mask
One thing Christopher Nolans Batman films did incredibly well was the way they handled organized crime. It always felt like a force in the background and made Gotham feel like the corrupt city it was meant to be. Affleck may want to shy away from covering this same territory but whats Gotham City without some notable gangsters? Black Mask is a huge underworld figure and could represent that facet of crime, while still boasting enough resources and panache to act as a primary antagonist. Cut from the same cloth as Bruce Wayne, Roman Sionis turned to crime after driving his fathers cosmetic company into the ground. Concealing his identity with a mask made from his father's coffin, he found far more success as a criminal and almost immediately amassed a loyal following. Mask isnt as flashy as the Joker but he represents a crucial criminal element in Gotham City that needs to be included. He gives the city character and his presence makes it feel lived in. Affleck neednt adhere to Nolans strict realism rules, but he would still do well to feature at least one antagonist who isnt a complete cartoon.
