Iron Man 2's Ivan Vanko was a weird amalgamation of Whiplash and Crimson Dynamo with a hint of Omega Red too, so is it any wonder he ended up a complete mess?
Part of the problem was the actor who played him, Mickey Rourke, who is said to have clashed with Marvel over the restrictions the studio placed on his creativity, which might explain why he refused to turn in anything resembling a performance.
