Many have speculated that Darkseid will be the villain used in the two confirmed Justice League films. He is a god like character with incredible powers; chief among which is the Omega Beam, a stream of energy which flows from his eyes and can act as a means for disintegrating an enemy, rendering them unconscious or erasing living objects from existence. Very few in the DC universe can rival his strength; Superman and Doomsday have come close to challenging him, but he is nearly omnipotent. Furthermore his powers include telekinesis and telepathy, as well as a genius level intellect. All in all hes probably DCs strongest villain, and he would certainly require the creation of a Justice League in order to stop whatever he has planned. The DC Cinematic Universe is already coming to terms with the existence of aliens following Man of Steel, so the onslaught of Darkseid and his planet Apokolips would fit in relatively well with this tone.
