10 Ways 2016's Superhero Movies Will Leave Fanboys Massively Disappointed

5. Batman V Superman Will Not Be What Everyone's Expecting

Man Of Steel gets a lot of hate, but I actually quite liked it. It's a movie which certainly has its fair share of issues, but there's a lot to like in Zack Snyder's reinterpretation of Superman. However, I can't deny that I walked out of the movie feeling massively disappointed. The trailers pointed to it being another Batman Begins, but everything from the cartoonish Krypton set opening to the weak story proved that was far from the case. With that in mind, it's damn near impossible not to be concerned that the so far epic and exciting trailers for Batman V Superman are also fooling us into expecting a much better movie than it will be. Like Man Of Steel then, there's a very good chance that the trailers are selling us a movie we simply aren't going to get. Despite some snappy dialogue in that latest preview, the whole thing is looking like a very by the numbers affair, and Batman V Superman may just end up being little more than a series of fight scenes with a few cameos thrown in in a hurried bid to create a Cinematic Universe for these characters. As great as it's going to be to finally see these iconic heroes all share the same screen, that's meaningless if the story being told is generic and predictable, and that so far sadly appears to the direction this one is heading in.

Josh Wilding hasn't written a bio just yet, but if they had... it would appear here.
