10 Ways Superhero Movies & TV Shows Will Be Affected By Current World Events

8. Morbius Is Done, But What About Venom 2?

THE BATMAN Delay
Sony

Sony Pictures recently concluded filming Morbius' reshoots, so outside of typical post-production work, that Marvel Comics adaptation is probably good to go now. Venom 2, on the other hand, only recently finished shooting, so it could be very difficult for the film to meet its planned October release date.

Test screenings won't be taking place at the moment, and reshoots are sometimes needed for reasons outside of certain scenes or characters arcs requiring changes (additional shots of actors, post-credits scenes, etc.). Well, Sony is unable to do those at the moment, so they can either release the sequel in its original state or push it into next year.

Common sense says that the latter option is most logical because even though Venom was a commercial hit, it's no secret that it was a critical failure. Another poorly received movie starring Venom could damage this franchise beyond repair, so this isn't a risk worth taking.

On the plus side, Sony has yet to release a single trailer or even officially announce it for this year, so pushing it into 2021 won't exactly be an embarresment!
