10 Weirdest Films In The IMDb Top 250

2. Interstellar (No. 27)

Christopher Nolan's latest movie is also his weirdest. Forget Memento or The Prestige or The Dark Knight Rises - Interstellar is the director's mind-boggling attempt to reach the critical heights of his idol, Stanley Kubrick, but forgets that his movie actually needs to be intelligent in the process. That's not to say that there aren't good ideas inherent to Interstellar, but none of them feel thought-out to the extent that you'd expect from such a sprawling film. So here it is on the IMDb Top 250, because Christopher Nolan movies always wind up on the IMDb Top 250 no matter how bad they are (ahem: The Dark Knight Rises). It's strange to see Interstellar so close to the top, though; not just because of its half-assed plot and zany ending, but because it wasn't a huge hit with a lot of critics or audience members. Many found it to be an ultimately underwhelming experience, lacking in proper substance, and yet - it's right there as the 27th highest-rated movie on the site. Can IMDb users vote before they've seen a film? Because that would explain this.
