10 Weirdest Films In The IMDb Top 250

1. Mad Max: Fury Road (No. 25)

Well, it is weird, isn't it? It's weird that Mad Max: Fury Road has already worked its way up to 25th place on the IMDb, not to mention that Mad Max: Fury Road is a downright weird movie - arguably the weirdest blockbuster movie ever made, in fact (second to Avengers: Age of Ultron, perhaps). Nobody expected George Miller's long-awaited and super belated Mad Max reboot to be any good, of course, because when is a reboot of something beloved ever any good? And yet Miller - aged 70, mind - knocked it out of the park, crafting an unexpectedly feminist apocalyptic action flick built from practical effects that puts its contemporaries to shame. It's been so successful a venture, in fact, that a sequel is already in the works - crazy! But there's no playing down the weirdness inherent to Fury Road. Everything from the characters to the mythology to the dialogue - it's all mental. The fact that a Mad Max film made in 2015 (without Mel Gibson) and with Charlie Theron as the actual main character could work its way into a list of the most beloved movies of all-time less than a week after its release date; well... that might just be the weirdest thing of all.
