Tim Burton's Edward Scissorhands, of course, tells the tale of an artificial man named Edward (played by Johnny Depp), an unfinished creation who has scissors for hands. Edward is taken in by a suburban family and falls in love with their teenage daughter Kim (played by a young Winona Ryder). We quickly learn that while his hands are full of blades, Edward's heart is filled with love. At first Kim is frightened by Edward (as any normal person would be) but she gradually begins to reciprocate his affection (despite what everybody thinks). We then get a surprisingly touching love story that could have simply been written off as the oddity that it is. With Danny Elfman's masterful score in the back-round, the infamous ice dance just might have you reaching for the tissues. Sadly, the ignorant townspeople eventually force Edward out of town, and he retreats back into his hilltop mansion, but he never stops loving Kim. Though, we can't honestly imagine that this relationship could have actually worked. Just imagine what the wedding night would have been like, it would have been a bloodbath.
