10 Worst CGI Moments In DCEU History

3. El Diablo Vs Incubus - Suicide Squad

When David Ayer brought Suicide Squad to screens in 2015, the team was comprised of plenty of colourful and obscure characters, one of which had the power to control and manipulate flames. For El Diablo’s big moment, he transformed into something of a fire demon to fight off Incubus.

It goes without saying that you can’t include a giant fire demon in a movie without a LOT of CGI, and unfortunately like the script, the villain, the overall story, and just about every other aspect of the movie aside from Margot Robbie, it let Suicide Squad down.

As the movie’s villain batted around the team like rag dolls, El Diablo changed into his fiery form, a weird giant skeleton covered in flames and wearing some bizarre head gear. This was the big moment the character’s entire arc led up to, and it looked ridiculous. He even made Incubus look not half bad by comparison, which is saying something.

Even after taking on this new form, the majority of the battle was still a fist fight, until he used his molten hand to melt into the chest of his enemy. Ultimately this was a stall for Rick Flag to blow them both up, but surely there could have been another way to give El Diablo his big, emotional moment that didn’t rely so heavily on such awful CGI.
